My Journey

From Ranchi to the UK — and Back Home.

Dr. Ekansh Debuka grew up in Ranchi, Jharkhand. He completed his medical education at Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal, before going on to specialist orthopaedic surgical training — earning his MS Orthopaedics from King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, where he was awarded a Gold Medal, followed by his DNB Ortho qualification.

During training he developed a particular interest in the foot and ankle — small joints where precise decisions shape how a person walks, stands and lives. He moved to the United Kingdom for advanced orthopaedic training and professional practice experience, and was elected FRCS by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

He returned home to Ranchi to bring this specialist training back to the community he grew up in — practising at Debuka Hospital, Lalpur, with a focus on foot and ankle care alongside orthopaedic surgery, complex trauma and limb reconstruction.

Patient Care Philosophy

My Approach to Patient Care

01

Listen First

Every consultation begins with listening — to your symptoms, your concerns and what you hope to get back to.

02

Accurate Diagnosis

A careful clinical examination, supported by imaging where needed, so treatment is based on the actual cause of the problem.

03

Individualised Treatment

Treatment is tailored to the diagnosis, your activity and your goals — with non-surgical options considered first where appropriate.

04

Long-Term Recovery

Recovery, rehabilitation and follow-up are planned with the aim of lasting function, not short-term relief.

Professional Life

Beyond the Operating Room

Dr. Debuka believes good outcomes begin long before surgery — with clear communication, honest explanation and patients who understand their own condition. He takes an unhurried approach to consultation: explain the diagnosis in plain language, discuss every option — including non-surgical ones — and make sure patients leave with a plan they understand.

Alongside clinical practice, he is involved in healthcare education — sharing foot and ankle knowledge with patients and professionals through digital platforms, and mentoring healthcare learners as the founder of NurseEdge.
